Are you looking for a job or want to change your career path?  Over 300 new jobs are heading to Fort Wayne.

Governor Mike Pence joined the Lutheran Health Network in announcing their plans to expand their Shared Services Center.

The new center located on Fort Wayne's southwest side, currently employes 175 people, but as WFFT's Rohma Siddiqui found out, by 2017 that number will gro to 500.

"It makes me hopeful."

Johanna Thomas has been unemployed for the past 6 months.  She aspires to have a stable career soon.

"It's different jobs that they're hiring for.  It's not just one specific position."

The Shared Services Center serves dozens of hospitals all across the region and they expect that to grow now that Lutheran Health Network and Governor Pence announced the arrival of more jobs.

"The dynamic environment here in Fort Wayne, the quality of the work force and education here in Fort Wayne is what gave this company the kind of confidence to make this investment that's gonna mean more than 300 jobs in this community."

Brian Bauer is the CEO of Lutheran Health Network and says the building should be up and running by this Fall.

"We need people with great customer service skills, significant attention to details."

He says many of employees will be interacting with multiple patients and insurance companies.

Nicole Brown is currently unemployed and hopes the addition of these positions is able to contribute effectively for those desperately seeking a job.

"I'm here at Rudisill to try looking for employment."

Geoff Paddock, City Councilman 5th District, says economically, Fort Wayne is on the rebound but definitely headed in the right direction.

"This is one of the things that keeps the momentum going, and I think Fort Wayne, an appealing place for folks to not only stay in but young people to come and move to."
