It's Monday night, and that means we're taking a closer look at some of our local businesses.
In tonight's Locally Made Monday segment- WFFT’s Andrew Logsdon shows us how a small computer shop in north Fort Wayne is taking things to a personal level for its customers- and they say it's something the big stores can't do.
It's this week's Locally Made Monday.
Stone Computers has the personalization down pat.
Through tailored service, and instant support, the employees have built themselves a loyal client base.
When you first walk in the door at Stone Computer on Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne- it can seem intimidating.
Computer parts and peripherals line the shelves.
Luckily, the guys behind the counter can have it all make sense for you into a personalized computer.
"We custom build and service computer systems. Both PCs, notebooks and tablets... You know, antivirus, scam removals, custom building your own desktop, to do 3-D animation, video editing, embroidery machines. You name what you want to use your computer for, we design and build it,” says assistant manager Miles Ratliff.
It's been open for fifteen years, but the employees have years of experience between them.
To create- and service- the machine of your dreams.
They say it’s what helps them stand apart from the big stores.
"You get local support and service. We here speak American, you're not getting someone overseas that may have an accent that's hard to understand. We are local, we provide local support and service,” Ratliff says.
It's open 10a-7p Monday through Saturday.
So if your laptop breaks at 6:30 Friday night- you're covered.
Something the big stores can't do.
And everything can be personalized.
"Like I just had a customer looking for a system for a flight simulator, wants multi surround view,” Ratliff says.
They can do it.
And Ratliff says it's helped them retain customers over those fifteen years.
