Tonight on Locally Made Monday- we get a glimpse inside a company that is the epitome of local.

80/20 in Columbia City started over twenty-years ago as a product of the Fort Wayne Enterprise Center- And today sends its products all over the world.

WFFT’s Andrew Logsdon has this week's Locally Made Monday.

Want to build something?

All you need is a few components
"80/20's the outgrowth of a real need- yet to be identified. And it was a product by which you could mount your stuff,” says founder and owner Don Wood

And not just mount, but create.

Since it started in 1990, it's grown, and so has its product line.

"This is the original catalog. I started this company at the Fort Wayne Enterprise Center... And we had a total of thirty-eight pieces. And now we have a catalog that looks like this. And it has seven-thousand pieces in it,” wood says.

And all these pieces are designed by customers- to fill a specific need.
Customers from here, and around the world.

And as Wood says- the pieces just fit.

"I will guarantee you there is always an application. And if you can't find it, I will help you find it,” Wood says.

And all these pieces are leading to a growing future.

It started in a 65,000 square foot building, which today is over 300,000.

And right now, building an additional 30,000 square foot addition.

And the entire company is debt-free.

"If you stay solvent, you can do anything,” Wood says.

All of that does look neat.
