As many of you are aware, it's Black History Month and to celebrate, Ivy Tech Northeast in Fort Wayne hosted a special event for students and the community.

The celebration included live music from local artists, skits by local performers, as well as a community resource fair.

Ivy Tech's Office of Diversity Affairs and Multicultural Affairs Organization hosts the event annually, in order to address the needs of our community.

"I really love being able to bring African American History alive.  My goal is to make sure that people are familiar with the contributions of people of African descent in this country.  This is the principal time, this is a good time to gather with people and to teach and to let people know what's going on in their community."

More than 100 members of the community attended this year's Black History Month celebration.
