Starting April 1st, IPFW will become a smoke-free and tobacco-free campus.

Cigarettes, cigars, oral tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and all other tobacco products will be prohibited on campus.

IPFW students and smoker Charles Kaduk says he doesn't foresee this rule having a big impact.

"It's just meaningless symbolism.  It's not going to make one less cigarette get smoked.  People will find a way to do it anyways.  It's just to look good, not to achieve any good."

Nationwide, more than 1,100 colleges and universities have implemented tobacoo-free policies.
