Welcome to German fest!

German fest is in full swing in headwaters park through Sunday evening and several people were out today enjoying the activities at the festival.

Anthony Vining and Don Ripplinger come to the festival every year saying,

"One of my favorite festivals of the year in Fort Wayne," Vining.

"I come for the the music the beer the fun, I love the beer." Ripplinger.

Another group of friends sits along side the main tent listening to the music agreeing,

"Dark German beer its quite good I’ve been having a few."

The Glasber family says they come for the sauerkraut, brats, and German style potato salad.

Clements Zumbraelgel, who was born in Germany, helped start German fest in 1981. He encourages antendees to,

"Have a good time and enjoy good beer and enjoy good people over here. Have some fun, drink some beer and have a lot of fun."

German fest's motto is eating drinking and having a good time...But can festival attendees say that in German?

"Essen trinken and gemutlicheit!"
