Monday afternoon Mayor Tom Henry and Fire Chief Lahey kicked off the boot campaign by donating money to the boots at Fire Station 1 in Fort Wayne. 17 year old Sam Brinneman was there today and is so grateful for what the fire department does for the MDA.

"I’ve always been grateful what they've done back when we did the telethon and before it went national it was great to go meet randy with the check and everything and it was amazing to see how much they'd done,” said Brinneman

Last year the fire department raised $98,000 and Brinneman said this year he knows they will break 6 figures. The final check will be presented at the Tin Caps game in a few weeks.
