First Female IPFW Chief of Police Sworn In Wednesday

The first woman Chief of Police was appointed Wednesday for IPFW.

Julie Yunker, who comes from Kalamazoo, Michigan is thrilled to be here and said that she has had great role models, both men and women that have given her guidance in her nearly 20 years of front line law enforcement. Yunker looks forward to working with the students and faculty and implement some new ideas.

"We need to continue to always work on our professional development so that we can ensure the safety of our students and faculty here. So I think we really want to keep working at training harder and harder," said Yunker.

Yunker said after being around campus throughout the Summer with limited action, she looks forward to seeing the school with students in the next few weeks.
