The shelter named the dog Ranger and WFFT had a chance to meet him and see how his health is improving.
On March 24th, a red and cream cattle dog was found wandering in the 2800 block of South Barr Street.
He was covered in animal waste, his eyes were severely infected, and he had open wounds on his body.
In just a couple of weeks, he's recovered quite well.
Shelter officials want to find the owner responsible for neglecting Ranger.
If you have any information about Ranger's previous owner, you can call Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control at 427-1244.
Ranger will likely be available for adoption in about a week. Employees at the shelter say he will need a loving family that can help with his recovery.
