Federal agents announced Thursday that they will be investigating 55 universities for the way they handled sexual assault cases. Indiana University, Vincennes, Ohio State, Wittenberg, and Dennison are the  universities in Indiana and Ohio that made the list.

“Rape is everywhere, it's not just on campuses, it's in every employment and every profession, everywhere we go,” said Michelle ditton, Chief Nursing Officer, Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center.

Ditton says more needs to be done to educate college students on what they can do if they're assaulted.

IPFW student Kayla Tilley says many times students are afraid to come forward because the perceived repercussions of reporting the alleged assault.

“I think the colleges need to tell people what it's going to be like and what’s going to happen if you come and talk to this person or this person,” said Tilley.

“Even if something happens it still isn't your fault, and  there are places that can help you and talk to you about your choices,” said Ditton.
